Stoneywood Parkvale 2–3 Kemnay AFC

Kemnay AFC picked up an excellent three points on the road on Wednesday evening, coming from behind twice to secure a 3–2 victory over Stoneywood Parkvale at Stauff Park.

Kemnay started strongly and enjoyed the majority of possession during the opening half, creating a number of opportunities but finding themselves behind after 15 minutes. A Stoneywood corner found Stewart Walterson free at the back post and he converted to give the hosts the lead.

The response came on 31 minutes. Ryan McLaren drove forward and saw his shot parried by the goalkeeper, with Louie Goldie reacting quickest to the loose ball to level the score at 1–1.

Despite Kemnay continuing to create chances, Stoneywood regained the lead six minutes before the break through Mitchell Deans, sending the home side into half-time 2–1 ahead.

Kemnay came out after the interval looking for a way back into the game and got their reward just two minutes into the second half. A pass into the six-yard box found Jacob Holloway, who controlled before finishing into the corner to make it 2–2.

There were further opportunities for Kemnay to add to the score, with Davis Lupindu, Greg Allen and Harry Petrie all having chances as the visitors continued to threaten the Stoneywood goal.

At the other end, Dylan Tas also played his part, producing two excellent point-blank saves over the course of the match to keep Kemnay in a position to go on and win it.

The decisive moment arrived in the 65th minute. Joel Ingram found Jake Blackwood out wide, who beat his man before delivering towards the far post. Ryan McLaren's initial effort was saved, but he reacted quickest to the rebound and converted at the second attempt to put Kemnay ahead for the first time.

From 1–0 down and then 2–1 down, Kemnay had turned the game around to leave Stauff Park with a deserved 3–2 victory and all three points.

The result also brought an end to Stoneywood Parkvale's four-game winning run and gives Kemnay plenty to build on after a performance full of chances, character and resilience.
