Who We Are

Kemnay AFC is an ambitious amateur football club competing in the Aberdeenshire Amateur Football Association. Since our formation in 2017, we have been committed to playing positive football, developing players and building a club that represents the Kemnay community with pride. Our ambition is to create an environment where players can enjoy their football, fulfil their potential and be part of a club that values commitment, teamwork and respect.

our story

Kemnay AFC was founded in 2017 by Steve Law, Brian Bendel and a group of former Kemnay Under 19 players who shared a vision of creating an ambitious football club for the local community. With Steve serving as the club’s first Chairperson and Brian as Coach and Secretary, that vision became a reality when Kemnay AFC was accepted into the Aberdeenshire Amateur Football Association ahead of the 2017/2018 season.

The club made an immediate impact, finishing fifth in Division Three during its inaugral season before earning successive promotions through the leagues. Along the way, Kemnay AFC celebrated its first major honours by winning the Dickie Trophy in 2019 and the AAFA Association Trophy in 2023. Just six years after its formation, the club achieved its founding ambition of competing in the AAFA Premier Division.

Like every football club, our journey has included both success and challenges. Those experiences have strengthened our determination to continue moving forward, developing players and building a club that can compete at the highest level while remaining true to the values on which it was founded.

As we look to the future, our ambition remains unchanged: to build a sustainable football club that our players, volunteers, supporters, sponsors and the wider Kemnay community can be proud to represent.

At Kemnay AFC, we’re proud to support Prostate Cancer UK by displaying the charity’s Supporting logo on our kit throughout the season. By giving the charity a visible place on our kit, we hope to help raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourage important conversations about men’s health.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, and greater awareness can help more people understand their risk and seek advice when needed. As a community football club, we’re pleased to play a small part in supporting this important cause.
