Kemnay AFC 6–0 Newmachar United

Kemnay AFC made it back-to-back victories with an emphatic 6–0 win over Newmachar United at Kemnay Academy on Saturday afternoon.

Kemnay were on top from the opening whistle, controlling possession and causing Newmachar problems across the pitch. Joel Ingram was at the heart of much of the play in midfield, while Cammy and Harry Petrie were given plenty of space out wide to get forward and add to the attack.

It took just three minutes for the pressure to tell, although the opening goal arrived in unusual fashion. Gregor Buckett picked up the ball just inside the Newmachar half and attempted to switch the play. His sliced delivery caught out the visiting goalkeeper and sailed over him to give Kemnay the perfect start.

The home side continued to push forward and doubled the advantage on 16 minutes. Ryan McLaren won the race to a loose ball on the right before driving forward and cutting it back into the penalty area. Louie Goldie took a touch before calmly placing his finish into the bottom-left corner for 2–0.

Five minutes later came the first of two outstanding set-piece goals from Joel Ingram. With Kemnay awarded a free kick more than 30 yards from goal on the left, Joel went directly for goal and found the top-left corner to extend the lead.

Newmachar offered little going forward beyond looking for the long ball, but goalkeeper Fernando was still called upon twice during the opening half and responded with two excellent saves. The first saw him at full stretch to tip an effort over the bar before he later produced another full-length stop to his right, pushing the ball around the post to preserve the clean sheet.

Kemnay's pressure remained relentless and Joel struck again in the 39th minute. From another free kick in an almost identical position, he once again backed himself from distance. This time the ball flew into the top-right corner to give him his second direct free-kick goal of the afternoon and send Kemnay into the break with a commanding 4–0 lead.

The pattern of the game continued after the restart. Kemnay remained in control and added a fifth on 55 minutes when Joel Ingram played Davis Lupindu through on goal. Davis kept his composure and calmly finished into the bottom corner.

Although the scoring slowed, the chances certainly didn't. Kemnay continued to create opportunities throughout the second half and twice struck the woodwork. A header from a corner came back off the post before the ball was recycled and another delivery eventually resulted in João Luis hitting the opposite post.

There were further opportunities as Kemnay continued to dominate. A Harry Petrie cross was met with a low header which brought an excellent diving save from the Newmachar goalkeeper, while Forbes also found himself with opportunities inside the penalty area as the home side pushed for more.

The sixth and final goal eventually arrived in stoppage time and was arguably the best team move of the afternoon.

The move began deep inside Kemnay's own half with Gregor Buckett finding Peter, who carried the ball forward before playing an excellent pass down the left for Craig Scott. Craig raced beyond the full-back and fired a low cross towards the near post, where João Luis timed his run perfectly to get in front of the goalkeeper and finish.

It was a particularly memorable moment for João, with the goal marking his first for Kemnay AFC and completing a comprehensive 6–0 victory.

From start to finish, Kemnay controlled the contest, with the four-goal first-half performance setting the tone for the afternoon. Six goals, a clean sheet and a host of further chances made it a hugely positive performance as Kemnay followed up Wednesday night's away victory at Stoneywood Parkvale with another three points.
