Northstar 3–1 Kemnay Amateurs

🟠⚫ MATCH REPORT Northstar 3–1 Kemnay Amateurs Saturday 3 October | Sheddocksley Pitches

Kemnay came away from Sheddocksley empty handed after an afternoon of missed opportunities and some excellent saves from the Northstar goalkeeper.

The hosts took the lead in the 16th minute through Rory Green. A short corner was worked into a cross, which found Green inside the six yard box to volley home.

Kemnay had a great opportunity to draw level when Ryan broke through one on one. With the goalkeeper out of position, his effort struck the post and Northstar’s lead remained intact.

Jake then came close with a superb strike from outside the box that looked destined for the top corner, only for the home keeper to pull off a fine save.

Northstar doubled their advantage in the 29th minute after a push inside the box resulted in a penalty. Green converted for his second of the afternoon, leaving Kemnay two goals behind at the break despite having chances of their own.

There was another opportunity early in the second half when Greg delivered a lovely cross for Jake. He met it with a strong header, but the Northstar keeper again produced an excellent save.

Mario Damean added a third for the hosts in the 56th minute, giving Kemnay a difficult task to get back into the game.

Jacob Holloway pulled one back in the 64th minute after capitalising on a mistake in the Northstar defence. Through one on one, he kept his composure and placed his finish into the corner of the net.

A further chance came when Joel’s free kick left Forbes with an open goal, but his effort missed the target. Kemnay couldn’t reduce the deficit any further, and the match finished 3–1.

A frustrating afternoon with enough opportunities to make the game closer. Taking those chances and cutting out the mistakes at the other end will be key as we look to respond.
