BON ACCORD CITY 3–1 KEMNAY AMATEURS
🏆 Cat Stewart Photography Dickie Trophy | First Round
A disappointing exit from the Dickie Trophy for Kemnay after a game of two very different halves.
Kemnay dominated the opening 45 minutes, moving the ball well, controlling possession and creating some good opportunities.
Joel played a great ball through to Yagoub, whose effort went narrowly wide, before Callum Campbell picked out Ryan McLaren with a lovely chipped pass over the defence. Ryan showed great composure to lift the ball over the keeper and give Kemnay a deserved lead.
It was an excellent first-half performance, and in truth, we probably should have had more than one goal to show for it.
HT: Bon Accord City 0–1 Kemnay
We expected Bon Accord to come out fighting after the break, and they did exactly that, drawing level just five minutes into the second half with a free header from a corner.
Unfortunately, rather than keeping our composure and continuing to play the football that had served us so well, we allowed ourselves to get dragged into a scrap.
Bon Accord took full advantage, going 2–1 ahead following a scramble in the box after an effort had been tipped onto the crossbar. A third goal followed, leaving Kemnay with no response.
FT: Bon Accord City 3–1 Kemnay Amateurs
A frustrating afternoon given how well we'd played in the first half. There's plenty to take from those opening 45 minutes, but we need to learn to maintain that level when the opposition puts us under pressure.
Credit to Bon Accord City, who responded well after the break, took their chances and earned their place in the next round.
